Every year, for the past 16 years, a winter festival in Lausanne presents brand new talents appearing on the international art scene. Musicians, visual artists, performance and installation artists share their bold creativity with delighted audiences. Forty projects take place in 10 venues over three days, including a face painting party for children! Arts correspondent Michèle Laird talks with director Patrick de Rham on how Les Urbaines is both a platform and catalyst for the vibrant arts scene in Switzerland today.
